The New Balance 9060 reinterprets familiar elements from the classic 99X models with a distorted sensibility inspired by the visible and proudly futuristic technological aesthetic of the Y2K era. The oscillating bars, taken from the 990 model, are expanded and used throughout the upper to create a sense of visible movement, while the wavy lines and enlarged proportions on the sculpted midsole place an exaggerated emphasis on the familiar ABZORB, SBS, and ENCAP cushioning platforms.
